Sick leave at the expense of the employer

Sick leave at the expense of the employer

10.02.2022

The change will take place because the National Assembly approved amendments to the laws on employment relations and health care and health insurance. According to the amendments, the period of compensation due to sick leave paid at the expense of the employer will be shortened.

From the current 30 working days, it will be reduced to 20 working days for individual absences from work, but to a maximum of 80 days in a calendar year. The changes will take effect on March 1, 2022.

The same will apply to sole proprietors who themselves bear the burden of costs due to sick leave.
